Step 5: Learn where’s where
When searching for a place to stay, it’s good to keep in mind the scale of the city and transport.
A bicycle is a staple means of transport for students and there is ample parking around the Design Academy in the city centre. If you are living within the Ring (the road that creates a circle around Eindhoven) you will be at maximum a 20min cycle from the school and the activities of the city.
Beyond the Ring, there are many other places that students have stayed in the past. Best, Helmond and the surrounding towns are 40minutes cycle from the city and well serviced by public transport. Nuenen, Geldrop, or the cities of Tilburg and Den Bosch are also options, but look into transport options in advance via Google Maps or the NS.nl (national rail service) so you know what you can expect.
