Lectures and Debates

At DAE, design is about more than creating objects and systems – it is about engaging with the societies and realities around us, exchanging knowledge and encountering, considering and embracing different ways of thinking, seeing and making.

Open and active dialogue is vital to this ethos. It is crucial that the discussions taking place within the walls of the Academy bring in outside perspectives and foster engagement with diverse audiences: that we invite new voices in and take the voices of our community out.

LECTURE SERIES

The DAE Lecture Series features speakers from various disciplines and backgrounds and at different stages in their careers. Well-known and established names take the same stage as recent graduates and those in the first years of practice. The programme is open to all to attend.

The Lecture Series is co-curated with a committee of current BA and MA students from different departments and studios.

THE ARENA

The Arena is a live talks, debate and performance platform during Dutch Design Week within the DAE Graduation Show. It features work and discussions by the most recent graduates of the Academy.
