Craft the Silicone

Audrey Werthle

Audrey Werthle’s technical research was prompted by her double fascination for patterns and plastics. She has created a sturdy material with a 3D relief by paring her design down to the simplest of patterns, the repeating vertical line, and combining silicone and screenprinting. In search of a contemporary application, she noticed a surge in recognition for craftsmen. Wearing an apron today is close to making a statement of authenticity, as opposed to mass production and lack of identity. In recognition, she used her material for a new-style craftsman’s apron: CRAFT THE SILICONE.
