House a DAE student
Just like last year, we are issuing an urgent call to alumni and friends in Eindhoven to help find accommodation for first-year students:
Are you able to temporarily house a fresh DAE student?
Could you help a student find a (temporary) stay in Eindhoven?
Like many European cities over the past years, Eindhoven has experienced a wave of gentrification. One of the effects of this has been a severe shortage of affordable, rented housing across the city.
Now, DAE first-year students once again face a battle to find accommodation when they arrive in Eindhoven.
DAE is still working with the Eindhoven municipality, housing agencies and other educational institutions across the city to find solutions, but unfortunately due to the large influx, this solution is not yet sufficient for the new academic year. That’s why the Academy now needs to ask its community again for help for these students in the short term.
Hospita rental
There are positive developments, though: in the municipality of Eindhoven, it is now possible to make a room available as ‘hospita rental’. Anyone who has a ‘spare’ room in their residence, is allowed to make it available to students by offering it to students themselves. If you have a room available, you can contact students directly, for example through this Facebook group. You can read more information on the website of the municipality of Eindhoven here.
If you can help in any way, please email to housing@designacademy.nl for more information.
