Introducing the DAE Educational Office
Newly established in January 2023, the Educational Office is a reform of the Policy Office. With the new name, the office hopes to make clear what it does and what can be expected from them.
The office consists of three people: Ivonne Versteegen, René van Binsbergen and Eva Korse. René will mainly focus on teacher professionalisation, including the organisation of BDB/BKE training as well as Educational Days for teachers. Both with backgrounds in Educational Sciences, Ivonne and Eva will be dealing with educational developments, policy issues, evaluations and accreditations. Eva is also Head of Educational Office and thus she is the point of contact for staff, teachers and students.
In consultation with various parties within the Academy, the office helps set policy, ensure that legal conditions and quality requirements are met and are committed to achieving the intended goals. It is important to note that they have a supportive and strategic role in the education process and they look forward to the mutual and effective cooperation with the teaching staff and the students!
When asked about her vision for this new role, Eva states:
“I think I can add value within DAE because, with a background as a musician, I have a good understanding of how artists/creators think and what it takes to get everyone involved in the process. With short lines of communication, open dialogues and making use of everyone’s expertise, I hope together we can make a positive contribution to the further development of education, where critical questions and comments are always welcome.“
With this change, Yolande Hezemans, previously in the position of Senior Policy Officer, will shift her focus and dedicate herself to other tasks outside the Educational Office, but the office will still call on her experience and expertise where necessary.
