DAE launches Chosen Name Policy

From July 2023, all students, staff, freelancers and alumni can register any chosen name, or alter a previously registered chosen name within the school’s internal systems.

DAE is happy to announce that it will now be able to recognise the chosen names of its community, effective immediately.

Students, staff, educators and alumni who wish to have a chosen name recognised can do so by following the procedures outlined on this page.

This update in policy has been a priority for the school following a rise in demand from both students and educators. DAE is committed to supporting both staff and educators in recognising chosen names among the student body and vice versa.

However, due to Dutch law, the school will still have to recognise legal names on official documentation where individuals have not legally changed their name.
