Space of Stillness

The Space of Stillness is located on the 3rd floor of the DAE. A key to the space can be requested at the reception on the 2nd floor.

This is a shared space. Multiple people have access, even with a key-card from reception, you may not be able to use it immediately. Please go to reception for an alternative solution.

This space is for:

Rest
Recovery
Solitude
Contemplation
Meditation
Prayer
Lactation

It is not possible to book the space ahead of time

This space is not for:

Meetings
Presentations
Gatherings
Classes
Studying
Working on Projects
Chatting

WHAT IF I CAN’T GET THE KEY?

You can request a personal key-card if you require regular access to the quiet space and are unable to get a key-card at reception due to a disability.

Disabilities – visible or invisible - that entitle you to a personal key-card include:

  • Panic/anxiety attacks
  • Overwhelmed by sensory overload
  • Pain when using stairs
  • Asthma

Students: Make an appointment with the Student Counsellors to register special circumstances and request a personal key-card. Key-cards are valid for the maximum of one academic year and can be renewed at the beginning of the academic year.

Employees: Email hrm@designacademy.nl to set up an appointment to request a personal key card.

SAFETY

The DAE first responders team can enter this room at any time if needed to ensure your safety. There is an emergency exit in the room.

PRIVACY

Use of the room is not registered when accessed with the key-card from reception. The Student Counsellors and HR register who has a personal key-card in 100% confidential systems. It is not registered when personal key-cards are used.
