Dinner @ De Parade
The collaboration with De Parade in 2024 was all about dinner, creating a speculative and performative installation at the opening event at the Parade Festival, taking place on Friday 21 June next to Parktheater in Eindhoven.
As a group, the students were given the opportunity to use design to create something for an uncommonly associated context. Under the guidance of the tutors, the students created a #cornucopia, #exquisit corpse performative installation utilising the dinner table as the context. The students used glass as their primary material, but not excluding any others. During the semester (February – June), students investigated questions like this: ‘Like we mapped out our spaces, how can we map out a dinner and then deconstruct it and make something new?’ ‘Think about the intended behaviour/feeling/interaction/urgency or politic you would like to enact and then consider what object could best accommodate this?’ ‘What are objects we already interact with and how do they shape our behaviour?’ ‘How do we interact with each other and how you like to accentuate or change this?’ ‘How do we consume and what is consumed?’
