Graduation Show 2022
Our graduates respond to a world that’s threatened by environmental crises, accelerated by digitisation, and rewritten through new understandings of history. Together, the Graduation Show 2022 forms an imprint of the shared concerns they have about the world they practice in, while it also shows what’s possible through critical, caring, and fantastical acts of design.
PHYSICAL EXHIBITION
Formerly a telecommunications centre, the Microtuin building is located in the inner city of Eindhoven, and is composed of many curious spaces. The Graduation Show winds through these spaces on a single path, where relationships and tensions build between the projects, allowing visitors to experience the questions, fascinations, anxieties and passions that connect the students, and form the design culture at the DAE.
THE STAGE
Our graduates engage with global issues through an increasingly diverse range of presentation formats, performances and hybrid practices. New temporalities and spatialities are needed to present this type of work to the world. Emerging from Dr Ian Biscoe’s Transdisciplinary Design Networks Professorship, The Stage brings together design, scenography, theatre, film and television techniques, along with Extended Reality (XR) and gaming technologies, to create a digitally mediated environment with a global reach. The Stage also hosts The Arena and the Graduation Show’s public programming.
