About VidAmir
Vida Kashani and Amir Komelizadeh have a collaborative artistic practice under the name of ‘VidAmir’, that moves from Iran outward to places such as the Netherlands, where they have been living since 2011. VidAmir’s practice encompasses the practice of art, filmmaking, installation, and is united conceptually by interest in poetry, storytelling, archive, and politics which provoke new imaginaries that are equally bound to aesthetics. VidAmir centre collaboration in their practice; they have thus far completed several projects in intensive collaboration withs composers, philosophers, and citizens. With social identity being the overarching theme in their work, they question this theme by playing a layered game with “real” people and “fictional” characters.
Their work has been shown internationally at places such as Millenuuim film workshop in Brooklyn New York, 180 Berlin Film Festival, The Gray Space in the Middle in The Hague, Netherlands film festival in Utrecht, Noordelijk film festival in Leeuwarden, and at DOOR Creative studio in Zaandam.
