OKHRA-Workshop
In the regional park of Luberon, in the south of France, you'll find painterly ochre landscapes shaped by both humans and nature. Ochre, a rare, earthy, clay pigment, colours the region with shades of red, yellow and purple. However, the cultural significance and unique character of construction and architectural ochre techniques are being lost. Through the OKHRA-Workhop, Victoire Sauvage de Brantes, together with Roussillon's Ecomuseum, transforms ochre into a connector between heritage sites, municipality, local inhabitants and visitors. By participating, you learn how to work the material with care and a sense of belonging to the place. Over time, locals and visitors collectively help transform the area once more, giving lost techniques back to its people.
