“We need a physical approach to emotional health in the modern workplace”
What: A collection of five sensory objects that are intended to provide comfort in times of mental distress.
Why: Research shows that workplace stress has reached near-epidemic levels. The ever-increasing demands of the modern workplace intensify the pressure on employees. This project aims to show that our emotional health is equally as important as our physical state.
How: Varvara Lazareva designed five objects for relaxation: a curved wooden massager to help reduce tension in the neck and shoulder and prevent migraines; a silicone egg that vibrates with the rhythm of a calm heart; an exercise footrest to reduce stress in the leg and stimulate blood flow; a breathing mask to counter hyperventilation; a hand toy that brings relaxation and concentration through repetitive movements.
