Liquid Love
"Inspired by Zygmunt Bauman’s philosophy, 'Liquid Love' explores the historical and personal narrative of love experienced during an exchange in Arita, Japan. Known for its porcelain, Arita prospered from Korean ceramic techniques introduced 400 years ago by Yi Sam-pyeong. This historical irony, where war victims became revered, deeply resonates from a Korean perspective.
In Arita, a Korean student fell in love with the craftsmanship of the town, their bond transcending linguistic and cultural barriers through ceramics. Her dedication to the craft and his determination to bridge cultural gaps echo the ancient potters' journeys. Their labour reflects a deep love and admiration for the town. They urge contemplation of love’s essence beyond nationalism, reflecting the dedication of potters to the craftsmanship."
