Sacred epiphany is inherent to being, permeating the mental, economic, spiritual and social lives of humans and their societies, according to historian of religion Mircea Eliade. Could it be the core of the design impulse; the origin story of the plethora of everyday objects and cultural artefacts that clutter contemporary life? O.M.G. explores the interplay between religion and design through a bricolage of mythologies, legends and artefacts from previous cultures mashed together with elements from popular culture like TikTok trends. Through a multimedia installation comprising video and sculptural objects, the project proposes a reality in which objects are to history what organs are to the body.
