Second Appearance

Takeshi Miyakawa

Takeshi Miyakawa wondered: “What if water were no longer fluid? What would our objects look like?” The initial question triggered a range of consequences: spoons would be flat, vases lose their rim, a swimming pool might suddenly spread across flat ground. ‘Second Appearance’ is a series of products based on this reversal of circumstances: alternative manifestations of everyday objects in response to a new set of parameters. Will a reversal of accepted logic reveal new universal shapes? And what would this mean for the way we shape our surroundings?
