None of Your Concern

Perplexed by the increasingly biased mainstream Greek media and independent journalists having posts removed on social media, Sofia Topi focused on the social movement #BoycottGreekMedia. As a tool for deciphering and mediating information and news, she developed a methodology that entails collecting and reappropriating words used in public to address a news topic. By interpreting the language used, we can become conscious of how news is written to define how we should feel about and engage with it. A multimedia installation uses personal narration to explain the case study and demonstrate the methodology. The project negotiates the possibility of developing one’s own autonomous voice regarding the news.
