Sustaining the environment is often not in line with the fast-paced monetary interests of governments and corporations. How could we change our economy into one that benefits the environment? ‘Nature and Money’ is a board game that rewrites the rules of our current system: the value of the currency tokens is directly pegged to the shifting sustainability index. The more players collectively invest in sustainable measures, the stronger the currency becomes and the greater their purchasing power. By stepping into the roles of citizens, CEOs of large corporations, or politicians, players can use their moves to influence the sustainability index collaboratively. In this way, they have a monetary incentive, leading to more environmentally positive actions.
