Soup
Our digital environment requires us to be constantly connected, producing and seeking visual gratification. We are exposed daily to an excess of curated imagery, removed from its initial context. To keep up with this digital demand, the image is increasingly becoming the goal. ‘Soup’ is an installation that highlights the ambiguous status of the designer in the era of social media. As chairs and tables seamlessly morph into new designs, their visual identity starts to blur. While we try to meet this demand for image consumption, are we not ultimately feeding into a visual loop?
