Baby-Exit Choreography
A single 30-year-old woman, still at the beginning of her career, is looking for options to ensure that she can have a baby, within a period of five years. She asks her gay friend for a sperm donation. He also offers to participate in parenting. The woman feels instant relief and a newly gained agency over her future. Together they embark on building an extended family, which should ensure both freedom and security for all its members. In this video installation the family in the making is discussing not only the terms and conditions, but also the hopes and dreams for raising a child in a loving environment. The piece explores the boundaries between fiction and reality of child planning in today’s day and age.
