The Future Market

WHAT An app, online social platform and movement to bring food production back into cities, encouraging people to grow their own and exchange resources and knowledge. WHY Today’s food economies are not sustainable environmentally, and the long, complex supply chains are causing an increasingly deep chasm between people and their food source. HOW From rooftop gardens to community food banks, the project examines how Singapore’s existing food and related resources can evolve with technological platforms that assist sharing and collaborative economies, potentially shaping food production and consumption for future smart cities.
