Office for Serendipity
Paul Bes de Berc
The city is made of buildings and the void that connects them: the public space. Being confronted with the city is being confronted with this in-between, a transitional space that allows you to go from point A to point B. In this reality of roads, sidewalks, signs, façades, and visual accidents, our minds wander. The public space is a reality that belongs to no-one and everyone at the same time; a theatre scene where humans are actors and spectators, where everything and nothing happens. With ‘Office for Serendipity’, Paul Bes de Berc proposes using this space to learn from others, exchange our ideas while being by ourselves, and allow our solitudes to intersect.
