“A creative relationship between multiple people that goes beyond a single outcome”

What: ‘Polycreative’ is a new term and approach, an understanding of collaborations as creative relationships between multiple individuals. This project focuses on representing and celebrating these relationships through cake. Why: Increased visibility, communication and information access through social media are changing the way we work together. Viewing a collaboration as a creative relationship means consent, appreciation, curiosity and dialogue can be shared in a new light. How: It all starts with five cake stands by five designers for one cake baker. Five ritual designers, plus photographers, video artists, eaters and viewers complete the experience. The final outcomes become secondary; primary aspects are the communication, the many different media used, and the different emotions experienced. “A creative relationship between multiple people that goes beyond a single outcome”
