Singing together has always been a way to overcome hardship. The Covid pandemic inspired people to sing to, and with each other, on the internet. But initiatives such as Zoom choirs struggle with poor timing due to network latency. Eager to solve this problem, and interested in a more physical connection to the virtual world, Niels Nielsen created 'Voiceful'. This web-based karaoke platform allows anyone with access to the internet to write songs and sing along with others. By layering the voices, the choir grows with each individual recording. Resembling a dreary coronavirus dashboard, 'Voiceful' surprises its visitors with the opportunity to actually do something: sing their sorrows away with newfound friends around the world.
