Objectext
Niall Keville
Just when we think we understand what a thing is, what its purpose or meaning for existing is, the thing itself often becomes invisible. The cupboard, the chair, the table fall into the background until we call on them for usage. Then they disappear again. As humans, we don’t see ourselves as enmeshed in the world, rather we imagine presiding over it.
How can we suspend this state of comprehension so that objects remain visible and tangible? 'Objectext' imagines a realm where they are not just on display but pointing back at us, questioning our intentions as we define them in relation to our needs or desires.
