Genees Smakelijk
Naomi Jansen
Western medical culture tends to treat illness with medication, largely ignoring the supporting role food plays in healing processes. Most hospitals serve the same industrially produced meals to every patient, regardless of their illness or treatment. Naomi Jansen’s concept ‘Genees smakelijk’ intends to increase awareness of food as a factor in good health and change the cooking and eating culture in hospitals. It will help meet individual patients’ needs and provide tailored nutritional information. Ultimately, the aim is to change all our attitudes towards food, not only in hospitals, but also in schools, supermarkets, restaurants and our kitchens at home.
