Within Contaminated Circuits
"Heat contaminates everything. Even the coldest atoms in space exist as thermal bodies within heat exchange circuits. These circuits become visible to humans through crises like disrupted water cycles or technical devices overheating. By closely observing an overheating thermal sensor, its vulnerability to heat becomes apparent since detecting both its external heat and internal temperature leads to falsified measurements and reduced accuracy.
Within Contaminated Circuits explores these thermal dependencies and vulnerabilities. The installation focuses on finding and extracting information from the noise of heat, often regarded as an unpleasant sensation and technical interference. A Raspberry Pi and temperature-sensitive imaging camera translate the environment into thermal imagery, revealing otherwise invisible details. An accompanying lecture performance explores heat as a pervasive regulator—from thermal apparatus components to the fever dreams of geostationary satellites."
