Contemplative Streams
Maud Flamand
“Contemplation is taking the time to what goes on around and inside ourselves”
What: ‘Contemplative Streams’ is a video installation that invites viewers to tune into nature’s pace. The viewer can observe blue and golden hours across the globe through live recorded webcam footage.
Why: Blue and golden hours mark the beginning and ending of the day, both in nature and in our personal time. Displayed as a continuous stream, these light events become an open invitation for contemplation and peace of mind.
How: Two screens display blue and golden hours respectively from subsequent places around the world. They offer a window on the bustle in these places. A third screen displaying a day and night map of the world and a timetable of sky shades gives a full picture of the day in blue and gold.
