UNWEARABLE

Matti Paffen i.c.w. Jasper van der Burgh

The UNWEARABLE platform offers a subscription-based rental service for exceptional designer clothes. A collaboration between Matti Paffen and Jasper van der Burgh, the project proposes a local sharing system that challenges the exclusivity of fashion. Closely tied to the logic of the capitalist market, ready-to-wear clothing is often simple and doesn't leave much room for creative experimentation as it aims to appeal to a wide audience. The garments are interpreted and modified by the wearers, who give them a unique twist each time they wear them. This creates the story of the garment and the story of the brand as a whole. Rather than buying into a uniform brand identity, users explore their own identities by wearing and altering the garments.
