Graduation project
Broccoli Bar
Matilde Brizzi
Broccoli Bar or BBar is against crucial academic reflections only being understandable by an intellectual elite. Over the last few months of the Master’s, it set itself up inside Design Academy and invited students to have informal conversations about their academic research using digestible terms. Conversations had to adhere to the Very Informal Protocol, which stipulated time frames and language rules, such as translating academic jargon into graspable examples or popular sayings. Bottles brandishing banned words — for instance epistemology, appropriation, agency — and coasters with quotes from the conversations are some of the archival artefacts that resulted.
