We Are at a Crossroads
Marie Rime
“The space creates a dedicated frame that allows for glitches in our behavioural patterns”
What: A hosted experience that triggers our perception of the everyday through cyclical processes of interaction between objects and participants.
Why: Our daily routines are embedded in cycles: the natural ones we are forced to live by, and those we create for ourselves. These repetitive cycles make us perform actions thoughtlessly because they have become so ingrained in our behaviour. The everyday becomes part of our character.
How: Marie Rime brings this invisible system of cycles and their traces to light in a performative installation. Her handmade objects and the parameters she sets make participants aware of their freedom and possibilities in our perceived restraint.
