The Last Job on Earth
Marie Caye
The self-proclaimed position of humans as unique intelligent beings is no longer valid. Artificial intelligence is on the rise. Machines are starting to put us to work instead of the other way around. The performative installation ‘The Last Job on Earth’ links human bodies to artificial minds, giving us a peek into a possible future career – as interpreters for a computer program. Visitors who take a seat across the table will get a first-hand experience of artificial intelligence. In the meantime the machine will learn from their human behaviour. As man and machine learn to understand each other, the difference between the two will start to blur.
