Food for Thought

Maayan Pesach

The smell or taste of food can bring back old memories. Maayan Pesach researched the link between nostalgia and food by interviewing people of different ages, backgrounds and beliefs. The most inspiring stories she heard are in this book. ‘Food for Thought’ shows a culinary collection of nostalgic personal experiences, fantasies, rituals and recipes. Following the leads from one of the stories, Maayan started to examine the modern meat industry. Based on her findings, she designed a dinner set that makes us wonder about the origins of the meat we eat: waste items such as bones, hair, and skin are intuitively integrated into archetypal tableware.
