Mementos

Lena Winterink

“The beauty of an object is in its memory, which we should cherish”

What: How can we carry object-related memories with us without holding on to the actual objects? ‘Mementos’ makes it easier to discard things, by rendering them into a unique textile print first. Why: As minimal living is on the rise, we start to question the need for things – especially those without a practical function. And yet, can you throw out the trinkets you once collected, a precious stone found on a faraway beach, or personal letters from the past? How: Lena Winterink will take them off your hands to create an exclusive pattern design. What about a kimono with your former collection, a tablecloth filled with souvenirs, or a duvet cover cherishing your correspondence? The objects are gone, but the mementos remain.
