Of Now and Then, Again and Again
As Léna Yumie Trullier transitions from school to the outside world, she revisits a nearly forgotten collaborative project from years gone by. With ongoing attentiveness, she explores its digital archive, (re)discovering what the images elicit in her now. They undergo the physical process and chemical transformation of film photography. In this manner, the reversed images of the past as negatives are methodologically re-examined and questioned. The final result is an audiovisual piece which blends collage, narration, superimposition, and handmade frame-by-frame stabilisation to establish new viewpoints on the work. During the transitional graduation period ‘Of Now and Then, Again and Again’ serves as a rite of passage. It guides Léna in responding to this fragile moment of existence.
