Meet me in the middle_Not your typical video call.

Remoteness and virtuality have become undeniable factors in spatial and social design, and remain lodged there since the restrictions in public life during COVID-19. Léa Cadieux-Mathieu explores digital technology as a medium for space, understanding its transformation of social dynamics that allow different states of presence for humans, non-humans and objects. Based on countless conversations, brainstorms and collaborations with digital, physical and hybrid event experts, the project proposes a radical alternative to our current ways of video-calling through participative in-between environments. Through more embodied practices, the experience creates different ways of connecting and new conceptions of closeness between loved ones.
