#ff00ff – Harmonious Hues
Sometimes, at sunset, a vivid pink floods the atmosphere: magenta. Curiously, this shade is not found in the visible ROYGBIV spectrum of light. Two wavelengths at opposite sides of the spectrum, red and blue, are activated simultaneously. This fusion forms a pink symphony. With this project Laura Staģīte explores her fascination with this synthesis of opposing frequencies through sound. The result is a ceramic synthesiser lamp. This interactive gadget invites playful exploration. When interacting with conductive glazing, frequencies combine into a vibrational sound, mirroring the harmonising waves in light. ‘#ff00ff’ delves into the mystery of magenta by exploring it as an additive colour made through additive synthesis.
