The Idea of a Tree
Katharina Mischer & Thomas Traxler
In 2008 Thomas Traxler & Katharina Mischer graduated from Contextual Design (then called IM) with Idea of a Tree, a semi-autonomous machine combining natural input with a mechanical process. After the exam, the two decided to set up a combined studio. The studio has created a large range of projects in which the designers continue to balance between handcraft and interactive technology. The high quality of the work has led to several awards and many presentations all around the world.
