What Does a Full-Scale Model of a House Want?
A short film trailer follows a group of time-travelling archaeologists. They are on a visit to a full-scale model of a house inside a vast warehouse space in Berlin in 1931. This journey back in time considers the possibilities of this particular exhibition space as a ‘state of exception’ inside the metropolitan urban fabric. The warehouse provides a shelter in which full-scale models have been built, ignoring or opposing planning regulations and economic and political pressures. The protagonists consider the model as a ruin whose eradicated ideas can be adapted into possible futures. A key question emerges: is there any power in how we stage architecture exhibitions today?
