Polyphonic

People are the experts of their own experience. Who better to listen to than them? Yet, during an internship at an INGO in Lebanon, Jip Geven experienced that important decisions were always made in faraway Western capitals. 'Polyphonic' is a study of the dynamics of power, and an exploration of how design can set things in motion. Gathering testimonials from those whose voices are hardly heard, and delivering their stories to those in power, Jip created a method to change that dynamic. She designed a position for herself as a designer, with a toolset of building blocks as universal conversation pieces. They can be used to rearrange the power pyramid, bridge the gap between separate worlds and get the message across.
