The Nursery

Janneke de Lange has a dream. Enchanted since childhood by greenhouses of all sorts and with a passion for tropical fruits, she envisions to establish a botanical garden in the Netherlands solely dedicated to tropical fruits. It would serve as a garden, production site, wellness centre, restaurant, gym, vacation destination, and, above all, a sanctuary for indulging in exotic fruits while being surrounded by lush tropical greenery. To realise this vision, trees are needed and instead of buying them from a commercial nursery, Janneke aspires to establish her own nursery. She envisions portable greenhouses crafted from repurposed baby trolleys. Nurturing baby plants this way will create a deeper connection to nature. “These plants will grow and move with me towards my garden of Eden,” Janneke says.
