Hemptify

While bicycles are known for their low environmental impact, there is still room for improvement in their manufacturing process. With ‘Hemptify’, Jaehoon Kong crafts a sustainable bicycle using hemp wood, a fast-growing and less expensive alternative to traditional wood, which reduces reliance on non-biodegradable materials and showcases versatility and strength. The project covers the entire lifecycle of production, from raw material sourcing to disposal, reducing the ecological footprint from manufacturing to end use. The end product serves as a tangible display of eco-friendly materials and processes, prompting wider adoption of sustainable practices.
