Impact probes

## “As an activist, I consider social design to be an important practice, but I’ve noticed that there is a general confusion about what social design can or can’t do.”
While social design can create real leverage on critical situations facing society, the impact of social design projects is not always clear. ‘Impact Probes’ is a research project to investigate the question of impact within the field of social design through three angles. The first is a research report, based on interviews with designers about their methodologies. Next to this, an online Social Design Hub (social-design-hub.com) allows designers to share their frameworks, successes and failures. The third angle is a notebook that helps designers to ask the right questions during the development of their project. This way, ‘Impact Probes’ offers designers a set of tools to help them reflect on what they do.
