VOLUME ONE
Fascinated by creating new spaces inside existing spaces, Hawick Henneman explored what the mere act of spontaneous building – without a specific purpose or end – would bring. With a huge pile of wood, he entered an empty room, put up a camera, started building and kept doing so for months. As the room provided shelter, he could work without parameters and free from expectations, instinctively choosing each next move. Key to this spatial experiment is the aim to create a continuous state of transition, not wanting anything to reach a final form, because that would mean the end of the attraction. After four months of intuitive building, Hawick is convinced: shaping things is so much more about the process than the result.
