BONS.AI: Plant evolution in the digital space

"With 'BONS.AI', Florian Langheim proposes a speculative view to plant evolution through digital technologies. While humans are increasingly exploring online spaces, why wouldn't plants be able to do the same? What would new digital environments for plants look like, and what kind of impact would their online presence have on different species' physical existence?

Florian envisions plants shifting towards digital environments and evolving in these manmade spaces, tailoring attractiveness, interaction and reaction to the presence of humans. 'BONS.AI' presents a series of altered cyborg plants which make sounds when they need watering, adapt their digital appearance to individual tastes, or develop abilities according to human needs. The project imagines a future where interspecies communication thrives."
