Everyday

Félix Panis-Jones

## “When I buy or use something I try to think about how and where it was made, where it will end up, and at what ecological and human cost.”

‘Everyday’ is an augmented reality project that visualises problems caused by the fast food industry. Packaging is stripped of its visual, material and functional appeal to reveal the story behind the food and how it impacts the environment. To explain the reality of fast food, from resources and production to transportation and consumption, Félix Panis-Jones overlays 3D animations and other information onto the packaging. For example, an animation on a box of chicken nuggets shows chickens being crushed to pulp on a conveyor belt. Additional data (number of chickens killed per minute, volume of waste generated) appears on counters. Companies use AR to market products; Félix hijacks that system to give consumers another perspective.
