Legal or Right

Tesla’s announced building of a Gigafactory near Berlin in 2019 has been surrounded by protest and support. Controversies include the site itself being situated in a drinking water protection area, and building commencing with only provisional permits. Legal or Right is an audio-visual installation with a three-dimensional model of the Gigafactory shown to be constantly changing through vertical projection, and accompanied by an audio narration. Different contradictory emotional, political, environmental and legal facts, opinions and perspectives are presented in a way that demonstrates that truth depends on the position one takes. The project is an exploration of the nuanced differences between what is legal and what is right.
