Blooming Democracy
"Institutional democracy allows some people to rule, while others' voices often remain unconsidered. 'Blooming Democracy' discovers a more direct way of practicing democracy, which approximates the ideal of a system which supports decision-making based on individuals' needs.
How could local decision-making become more accessible? Eden Luna Goldet introduces the role of 'the cultivator' and makes seeding activities into political phenomena. 'Blooming Democracy' unites citizens and politicians, by creating situations of encounter and accountability. Set to evolve in public space, the project aims to extend the role of citizens within political processes. The project is based on an in-situ research, which included interviews, interventions in the public space and try-outs of different scenarios."
