Court Dance
Dorota Gazy
Our justice system is focused on judgement and punishment of the perpetrator. Yet, often this is not enough to help the victim move on. Or the perpetrator. There is no room to process emotions. That is why Dorota Gazy created ‘Court Dance’. Here, she invites dancers into a courtroom to act out a case. Each is assigned a different role and is free to express emotions from their perspective. Their movements speak to us intuitively, offering the justice system advice through experience, as opposed to pure reason. Watching it is a way to bring humanity back into the process, aiding empathy and reconciliation for all involved.
