Mixed Wearables
Corinne Van Grevenbroek
Today the digital and physical worlds are seen as very different places. ‘Mixed Wearables’ by Corinne van Grevenbroek brings these two worlds closer together. Each outfit is designed with a coded pattern inspired by pollen: the hidden sexuality of plants. In the lens of a digital device, the hidden augmented layer in the fabric instantly springs to life. What appear as subdued woven textiles to the naked eye turn into an outrageous cacophony of colour. The clothing becomes interactive, allowing people to transition between physical and digital outfits.
