GMO DESIGN
"Clément Toumire-Algrain has created a design process that draws a parallel with the scientific methodology of creating GMOs, Genetically Modified Organisms, which relies on iterations of selection to achieve the most efficient result. In doing so, the designer moves away from choices
based on personal preference and considers other ways of making decisions, recognising the importance of archiving as a fundamental practice for creating or maintaining an identity. In GMO Design, this process is applied to the designer's archive and personal memories to showcase his identity as a creative. The project is driven by a deep interest in archival practices and the value of the information we collect and use, as it aims to review the past in order to envision a possible future."
